- Consumption of drink, other than supplied by the Hotel, is not allowed. The Golden Lion Hotel does not operate a corkage system.
- We do not allow catering by others in any circumstances.
- The Company reserves the right to amend prices, if deemed necessary, for bookings taken in advance of three months. However, we will inform our customers if this should arise.
- We require a non-refundable deposit of £500.00 within 14 days of the provisional booking being made. If this deposit is not made within this period to secure the booking the hotel reserves the right to withdraw the booking without further notice to our customer.
- For the catering requirements for the evening function the minimum number of guests, which can be catered for, is 75% of the total number of guests attending the evening function.
- We do not allow the use of any DJ except the Resident D.J. in the new Ballroom.
- In the unfortunate circumstance of having to cancel your confirmed booking at anytime prior to the event the Company will make every effort to re-sell the facilities on your behalf. Cancellation charges are as follows:
Deposits are non-refundable
6 months prior to date of reception 30% charge of total invoice
4 months prior to date of reception 40% charge of total invoice
3 months prior to date of reception 50% charge of total invoice
2 months prior to date of reception 70% charge of total invoice
1 month's prior to date of reception 100% charge of total invoice

We require full payment at least 28 days prior to the wedding .

The minimum number of guests for the Wedding Breakfast in the Yorkshire Suite (New Ballroom) is 80 people. If however, the number of guests decreases below this amount there will be a charge for the amount of guests not attending to the value of £10.00 per person.

Cloakrooms are provided for the convenience of customers and guests; any goods deposited in the cloakrooms are deposited at the owners risk and without obligation on part of the Company.

The customer will be responsible for any damages caused to the Golden Lion Hotel, or furnishings, utensils or equipment therein by the wilful act or default of the customer or guests of the customer and shall pay to the company on demand the amount required to make good or remedy such damage.

No displays can be fixed to walls, floors, or ceiling. Floral arrangements etc can be arranged with management supervision.

The company accepts no responsibility for equipment used or supplied by the customer. The company advises the customer that if the equipment is of significant value the customer should take out suitable insurance.
