Northallerton is set in the heart of North Yorkshire in the North of England. Found between the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorks Moors National Park, Northallerton serves as the County town for North Yorkshire. Northallerton is central to many of Yorkshire's tourist attractions, many beautiful towns, cities and villages.
Situated on the Northallerton High Street, The Golden Lion Hotel is an ideal location whether you are on business in the area or just visiting. On a Wednesday and Saturday you will find a bustling town market, with a Farmers market every 4th Wednesday of the month that accompanies an already large selection of shops and high street names.
If visiting the area for pleasure, attractions such as the James Herriot Centre in Thirsk and the North Yorks Moors Railway which takes in areas such as Goathland the setting for ITV's 'Heartbeat' are fine examples of what North Yorkshire has to offer. To the east of Northallerton, the coastal towns of Scarborough and Whitby provide a different taste of Yorkshire, famous for Count Dracula, Whitby Abbey and of course fish and chips!
For those with a passion for the races, Thirsk, Ripon, Catterick and York racecourses are only a short journey from Northallerton. North Yorkshire also boasts a large selection of golf courses, all reasonably priced and only a short distance from the Golden Lion Hotel.
Visiting the area on business, you can't help but admire the area as you pass through with some of the most spectacular scenery in England. |
